About Us

History of the Dakotas Chapter of NECA

The Dakotas Chapter was founded in 1949, and we presently have 41 electrical contractor members in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota. As members of NECA, our electrical contractors employ only the highest-skilled, best-trained electricians in the industry. Our employees  are affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Ongoing training is provided through the Dakotas Electrical Apprentice  program sponsored by NECA and the IBEW.

First Class Workers and Results

With the finest trained workers and a solid tradition of excellent labor relations, you can have confidence that a NECA contractor-wired job will be completed on time and on budget maintaining the high standards that our customers have learned to count on and done under the current National Electrical Code. For new construction, design and build projects, retrofit, teledata, fiber optics, low voltage, fire alarms, security systems, and value added construction, plan to use a Dakotas Chapter NECA member contractor.

In the Beginning...

The National Electrical Contractors Association was founded in 1901 as a professional organization to help set standards in the electrical industry. NECA’s mission continues to be to promote and advance the interests of the electrical contracting industry. Both through its national office and through its 119 chapters, NECA provides management and technical services to the 5,000 electrical contractors in its membership.
